RED @ The Music Farm

CofCRadio's RED - As Valentine's Day approaches, our minds turn to romantic dinners, sexy lingerie, rose petal-strewn beds... and gonorrhea? That word alone guarantees you won't forget to stock up on jimmy hats. Better yet, why not head to CofCRadio's Red event at the Music Farm on Thursday night? It's a burlesque-inspired event intended to promote AIDS awareness, STD testing, and safe sex — and they'll be handing out free vibrators in the VIP lounge. Student dance ensemble Meira Dance Troupe will perform a sexy belly dance routine and a burlesque act, and erotic-themed art by students and local artists will be on view and for sale. DJ Sonar will be spinning strictly indie dance music (sorry, Fergie fans), in line with the student-run, online radio station's dedication to alternative, independent programming. This adult-only event is sponsored by Chateau Exxxperience, and they'll be anchoring the VIP lounge (everyone is welcome) where, besides B.O.B.s (battery operated boyfriends), guests can pick up a safe sex kit (condom, lube, pamphlets) and check out toys and other fun items. Guests are encouraged to wear red. —Erica Jackson Thu., Feb. 7. (859) 321-2597, http://www.cofcradio.com/, . Music Farm, 32 Ann St., (Downtown), (843) 853-3276, http://www.musicfarm.com/.
